MIKE LANZA was the cofounder of Just in Time Solutions, MUDHAUS' very first client in 1994. Ten years after our last project, Mike called to ask if I'd like to work with him on a new venture. Codenamed VMS or Video Markup System, Mike and I hashed out concepts and fed them to genius programmer, Naicu Octavian, in Romania. We soon discovered that by "marking up" video, you made the contents searchable. If you then returned the search results in video form, you had a video editor that was as easy to use as Google. We named it CLICK.TV
So let's say video of all the NFL games were online and marked up. Type "joe montana touchdown passes" and get an instant highlights reel of everyone of Joe's TDs. John Stewart might have enjoyed searching all the presidential press conferences by typing in "george bush nukular". You can see how The Daily Show could easily shed half its research team if it had such a tool.
Alas, Mike sold the company in 2007. Soon after, he launched Playborhood which you'll find elsewhere on these pages.
